Functions of the SVS

In carrying out its responsibilities, the SVS operates in the following capacities:

Enforcement: Monitoring of compliance with legal, regulatory, and administrative rulings.

Regulatory Duties: Establishing of the regulatory framework for the securities and insurance markets through the issuance of rules and regulations.

Sanctions: Application of sanctions for breaches and infringement of regulations.

Market Development and Promotion: Promotion of variousinitiatives for market development through the creation of new products and instruments.

These responsibilities are outlined in the powers set forth in Article 4 of its charter, notwithstanding other pre-existing legal authority.
