The SVS has a specialized staff through which it offers services, such as, helping, orienting, expediting, and replying to questions, requests, complaints, or claims made by the insured or other legitimate interested parties with respect to rights and obligations arising from insurance contracts and applicable legislation. It also has a Service Office exclusively dedicated to guide persons who want to go on retirement under the life annuity modality, and for such persons already retired under this modality who may have any question or claim in relation to their pension.

This office is open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Av. Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins 1449 , first floor.

 
Description of the Service

Description of the Service:
This service is intended to serve, guide, and respond to questions, requests, complaints, or claims made by the insured or other legitimate interested parties with respect to the rights and obligations arising from insurance contracts and applicable legislation. In addition, it has to receive, expedite, and comply with the corresponding requirements before insurance companies, insurance brokers, and loss adjusters, watching over due protection of the insured's interests.

Intervention and opinions administratively issued by the SVS are not in detriment of the right of the parties of filing the corresponding actions to Courts of Justice, or to appeal to the arbitration instance provided in the conditions contained in insurance policies or contracts.

 
Estimated Time of the Formality

Location and Hours of Operation :
In the case of simple questions, that do not require further backgrounds, they will be solved by Service staff qualified in insurance matters and by specialized attorneys, who serve through daily shifts from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Insured Service Department of the SVS, located in Av. Lib. Bernardo O'Higgins 1449, 1° Floor.

For the remaining cases, the formality has to be submitted by written and may be delivered personally or duly represented at the Correspondence Office of the SVS, located in Av. Lib. Bernardo O'Higgins 1449, 1° Floor, or addressed by letter to the Insured Service Department of the SVS, Av. Lib. Bernardo O'Higgins 1449, 1° Floor, 834-0518 Santiago, or via fax to (56 2) 617 4100.

 
Required Documentation Documentation Required:
The applicant must submit all the documentation concerning the contracted insurance, such as, insurance policy, proposal, insurance quotation or application, health statement, adjustment report, endorsements, letters from the insurance company or from the respective insurance broker or adjuster, etc. The submission must individualize the applicant, the claimed entity, the type of insurance policy or clause that is deemed breached, and the amount of the claim, if applicable. The above shall be attached a brief description of the events on which the claim is based.
Estimated Time of the Formality: 30 working days, however, this period may be longer or shorter, depending on the complexity of the matter
